With little in the way of new software releases charting in Japan, console and handheld gaming system sales take a dip across the Pacific. Nintendo DSi sales were way down, but one console actually saw a boost. That would be the Xbox 360, which is a little bit odd, considering there were no new major releases for the console and only Shin Sangoku Musou 5 Empires for Microsoft’s platform managed to chart in the top 50. via: Kotaku Project Natal Does Not Require Red Jump Suits to Play [

Hack-and-slash action favorite Ninja Gaiden 2 , previously an Xbox 360 exclusive title, will see release on PlayStation 3 in Japan this fall as Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 . Game blog Kotaku delivered the news earlier today based on scans from Japanese gaming mag, Famitsu. Sigma 2 will apparently include new content exclusive to the PlayStation 3, such as PlayStation Network support of some sort and the appearance of newly playable character Ayane, best known for her role in the Dead or Alive fig

Resident Evil 5 now sits solidly at the top of the Japanese sales charts , with the PS3 version leading the charge. The game released in Japan last week to long lines of eager fans . The PS3 version is the number one selling game at 312,000 units, handily beating the second place DS game, 7th Dragon , which sold 80,000 units. The Xbox 360 version of RE5 is in a close third with 79,000 units sold. It'll be interesting to see this week's Japanese hardware sales (coming soon!) to gauge how m

D3Publisher is quickly becoming one of my favorite companies in the games industry. When they aren’t releasing original games, they’re reaching out to some of the more unique releases in Japan, and bringing them Stateside, including hidden gems like “Earth Defense Force 2017,” “WTF,” and “Bangai-O Spirits.” “Onechanbara: Bikini Samurai Slayers” is the latest in their line of Japanese imports, and it is easily the most… interesting one yet, as it includes everything in its title; bikinis, samur

What are the best-selling games in America, Japan, and Europe on Amazon this week? It’s hard to resist Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition at just $20 on Wii with the sequel coming out next week. Halo Wars makes its debut on the Xbox 360 chart. Killzone 2 remains at #1 on the PS3 chart. MLB ‘09 scores a homerun on the PS2 & PSP charts.
